Trinidad And Tobago Bikini Fashion Photoshoot | International Photographer Ernesto Sue

Getting started is always difficult and planning this photo shoot was no exception.  Every photo shoot we do always starts with a concept, a plan, a team and a clear path on how to execute said plan with all involve.  When I was thinking about planning this international photo shoot for Trinidad And Tobago, initially I thought it was going to be a logistical nightmare, as I have never coordinated a project across international waters and because it was simply an idea at the time and no plans were actually executed as of yet.

My only resource on every photo shoot to help me with the concept, wardrobe and research etc is my wife, so that's who I started with.  For me and my process, it's so important to have all this information before contacting anyone to be part of your project whether that be for a local or international photo shoot and here's why.  Imagine contacting a professional MUA, hair stylist, model etc and saying to them, hey, I have this amazing project you need to be part of it, but you have no details, do you think they will work with you, probably not.  Obviously they are exceptions to this rule, meaning if they have worked with you in the pass or you're famous and they trust what you can produce then they may happily say yes.  For example if Janet Jason (never worked with her) or someone from her team was to say drop everything I want you to shoot the cover photo and they provided no other details, zoom, I will be there in a heart beat.

Going back to the research, once I explained what I wanted to my wife, she immediately started researching various concepts.  I always rely on her to deliver comprehensive options which makes it very easy for me because all I have to do is choose one of the options and go from there.  Once she understood the photo shoot was going to be in Trinidad & Tobago, she focused on bold colors and fashionable bikinis.  In addition to my wife's great researching skills, she also has an incredible talent of getting water out of a stone, what do I mean by that? She's very resourceful and given we were working on a very tight budget she tapped an incredible local resource, her cousin Stacy Charles, who actually lives on the island of Tobago, convenient right.  Stacy was able to recruit the local talent and help secure two models for the photo shoot.

Tomica Bancroft and Chanelle Fletcher were our models for this photoshoot.  Tomica never model before and looking at the images you would never know it.  Chanelle has a few years of modeling experience, so she was very comfortable in front of the camera.  I want to thank both models for participating in this photo shoot, you both did an awesome job.

I want to give a special thank you to Chenee Jones, who was not with us physically in Tobago but she was there virtually walking Stacy Charles through the makeup process.  It was such an incredible moment to witness.  Chenee is an amazing makeup artist who took some time out of her busy day to do a live video chat with us and assist from thousand of miles away.

I also want to thank Candace Williams who did an amazing job with helping me with the behind the scenes video footage.  Without her, there would be none, so thank you very much for all your help with this.

This shoot was an amazing success, it started out with what I thought was going to be a difficult task and it ended up running very smoothly, which was thanks to all the amazing people who helped me on this photo shoot.
