She Said YES! | Alex & Remy's Engagement Proposal | Durham, North Carolina
I had the unique opportunity of capturing images when Alex surprised his girlfriend Remy by proposing to her on the day of their engagement shoot --- Remy was totally unaware of the shoot and thought she was on a romantic date with her sweetheart Alex.
These moments are very poignant and will remain part of the landscape of memories a couple will cultivate together. A step toward building a life together is a momentous one and care and detail was given to ensure this proposal would always be fondly remembered.
I worked with Alex to come up with a few potential locations for the day of the proposal and in the end he selected the Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham, North Carolina. We worked out the logistics and how to capture some candid shots without Ruby being aware of what was going on. Alex hired Ed Stephenson a local Spanish & Flamenco Guitarist who serenaded the couple during the proposal.
On the day of the shoot I asked Stephanie Jackson to assist with video because in addition to the still images I really wanted to capture this incredible experience on video for the couple's family to experience and relive their moments with them.
